Tiffany Taylor Speaks at the State of Our Nations

This September, Hamilton Scholar Tiffany Taylor spoke at the State of our Nations Youth in Toronto, Ontario on behalf of the Horatio Alger Association. She was one of the four students chosen from a pool of 107 Horatio Alger Scholarship Winners to participate in a student panel discussion where she gave her opinions about the 2008 State of Our Nation's Youth Survey. The panel included five students and they spoke about issues ranging from the historic nature of the election, cyber bullying and the economy.

The State of our Nations Youth Survey was a telephone survey that included 1,006 students ages 13 to 19. This was the 5th State of Nations survey conducted by the Horatio Alger Association and it asked students about their opinions on important issues ranging from politics to immigration to the economy.

Tiffany is from Dalton, Georgia and is now a freshman at the University of Chicago. She was recently voted by her peers as a 2007 Hamilton Scholars officer.
